My name is Nikki Johnson and I’m originally from Houston, TX. From the age of 6, I’ve known that I was meant to be a helper. By age 9, I would help organize things for my mom who was a schoolteacher. During junior year in high school, I took a part-time job as administrative support to the principal of my old elementary school.
After my elementary school, I also went on to work in my old middle school before graduating and then my old high school after graduation – always as an administrative assistant to the principal. I was a natural at it. Customer service and sales became a huge part of my life soon after. The ability to understand what people need and accommodate them were skills that were in my DNA. I sought out positions that fostered these skills and taught me how to deal with all kinds of people in all kinds of moods.
I’ve always wanted to be a Personal Assistant. While some people might not find that an inspired goal, they don’t see it how I’ve always seen it. Being a personal assistant is all about helping the right people live better, more inspired, and fulfilling lives. Now – it was just a matter of where to begin.
I searched high and low for a legitimate Personal Assistant position. My big break came in 2008 when I sent my resume in for a PA position that was listed on Monster.com. It was trial by fire and I LOVED it!
About 2 months into the position, my first BIG assignment was planning a fundraiser for then-candidate Barack Obama. It was a very successful event and I helped secure over $100,000 in donations for his campaign. This solidified my thought that I was doing something I was meant to do.
I used this position to hone my skills. Everything from planning fundraisers for other political figures, to planning intimate dinner events with celebrities. I was his right hand. I also used this time to figure out what I really enjoyed and wanted to do more of, as well of the things that I didn’t enjoy so much and never wanted to do again.
When I stopped working with him, I started my own business. My mission – to help my clients lead better, fuller, and more meaningful lives. I was born to do this.
